Rwandan author Judence Kayitesi engaged readers in Kigali on November 6, 2025, during a special event organized by Akitabu Bookstore titled “Meet the Guest Author of November.” The event featured the unveiling of her latest book, Letters to Forever, alongside discussions highlighting themes of healing, resilience, and enduring love.
Known for her deeply personal narratives rooted in the history of Rwanda and the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi, Kayitesi shared how writing serves as a therapeutic journey for both herself and her readers. “Writing for me is a way to heal and share hope with others,” she stated, emphasizing that her works, born from pain, ultimately offer comfort and strength.
Kayitesi spotlighted four significant titles in her literary career: A Broken Life, Choosing Resilience, Unity Quest, and Letters to Forever, all unified by messages of self-rebuilding and perseverance through hardship. Her newest book, Letters to Forever, explores the power of love as a healing force, reflecting her personal experiences and growthat even fostered meaningful connections between the author and an audience that included youth, parents, and literary enthusiasts.
