Rwanda Varsity League continues on Heroes day as Mount Kigali University volleyball team failed to get win ahead their games against University of Rwanda, Huye campus and Christian University Rwanda, games played under fogs in Gicumbi.
Mku volleyball team played their first game against UR Huye. The game started with big energy and attention from both sides, but as clock’s needle turns things goes worse to the Mku side. First set of the game ended in favor of UR Huye with 25 points on 15 points of Mku.
Second set of the game started with new ambitions to the Mku side, team wants to dominate the game, and they pushed hard to find the win, but still game ended in favor of UR Huye with 25 points on 21 points.
Game continued to third set, still no change, losers continues to loose and winners continues to shine, set ended with 25 points of UR to 14 points of Mku. Full game ended UR Huye won three sets to zero of Mku.
Second battle for Mku was to play against Christian University Rwanda. Team work was the first weapon to come up with in the game.
Mku did it well in first set, and they claimed it with 25 points to 19 points of CUR, and hope of winning game started at this point. Second set, both teams came with spirits and purpose to win the game, but set ended in hands of CUR with 25 points to 23 points of Mku. CUR with big squad entered their best players in the ground to claim last set with 25 points to 14 points. Finally, CUR won three sets on one of Mku.
Despite of loss to the team, staff members from campus, come to support the players as long as are their students they meet in lectureS. They shared a warm message to the players, inspiring them to keep working hard, that better days are coming.
“We did our best, we gave what we were having but in game there is losers and winners, may be not today but we keep doing trainings together, we will do better” said by volleyball team captain, Kwizera. And players were not familiar with the weather which became a big challenge. He added. Volleyball games will continue in RVL as MKU will be hosting games.
