UK sends aid to Jamaica as Hurricane Melissa death toll rises

The first shipment of British aid has arrived in Jamaica to support recovery efforts following Hurricane Melissa. The UK has also announced plans for its first chartered flight to evacuate British nationals from the affected areas.

The hurricane has caused significant loss of life and destruction across the Caribbean. In Jamaica, the death toll has risen to 19, while in Haiti, 30 people have died, according to BBC News.
