Nigerian music superstar Tiwa Savage has officially made her 2025 comeback with a captivating new single titled “You4Me,” released earlier this April. The song, a nostalgic R&B ballad, marks a soulful return to her musical roots and sets the stage for her much-anticipated fourth studio album, This One Is Personal, expected to drop later this summer.
“You4Me” draws inspiration from the smooth elegance of 1990s R&B, sampling Tamia’s 1998 hit “So Into You” and fusing it with subtle Afrobeat influences. Produced by Mystro, the track highlights Tiwa’s velvety voice and poetic lyricism as she sings of devotion and vulnerability with lines like “Nobody do me as good as you.”
The accompanying music video, shot in London and directed by Liam S. Gleeson, brings a stylish visual flair that complements the song’s romantic tone. Draped in warm orange tones and vintage textures, the video echoes the golden era of R&B while reinforcing Tiwa’s status as a modern icon of African music.
Speaking about the song in a recent interview, Tiwa said: “I’m a ’90s R&B girl at heart. This song is personal, emotional, and a reflection of where I’m at artistically.
I wanted to create something intimate, something true. “You4Me” follows her 2024 single “Forgiveness,” a more Afrobeat-heavy track, but this latest release showcases a different side of the artist, one that leans into emotional storytelling and timeless melody.
With her new album on the horizon, fans and critics alike are eager to see what This One Is Personal will unveil. If “You4Me” is any indication, Tiwa Savage is preparing to deliver her most introspective and mature work yet.
