Rwanda has achieved a major milestone as Solange Tuyishime Keita becomes the first Rwandan to compete in the Miss Universe pageant.
Keita, 44, will represent the country at the 74th edition of Miss Universe in 2025, joining contestants from more than 130 countries. This marks Rwanda’s debut in one of the world’s most followed beauty competitions.
Miss Universe is known for showcasing women who are confident, intelligent, and committed to making a positive impact. Keita’s participation highlights Rwanda’s growing presence in international pageantry and fashion.
Speaking after the announcement, she said she is honored to wear her country’s flag on the global stage:
“This is a dream come true. I hope to inspire Rwandan women to believe in themselves and follow their dreams boldly.”
