Premier League Weekend: Liverpool drop points again as Eze’s hatrick sinks Spurs in the North London Derby

Matchweek 12 of the Premier League produced several significant results, with implications for both the top and bottom of the table.

Burnley 0–2 Chelsea

Chelsea earned a routine 2–0 victory against Burnley at Turf Moor. Pedro Neto scored in the 37th minute with a shot from the edge of the box, and Enzo Fernández added a second goal in the 88th minute. The result moved Chelsea into second place as they look to put pressure on Arsenal for the top spot.

Liverpool 0–3 Nottingham Forest

Liverpool suffered another defeat at Anfield, losing 3–0 to Nottingham Forest. Forest opened the scoring in the 28th minute following a counterattack and added a second before halftime. A third goal in the 72nd minute completed a comprehensive win for the visitors, raising concerns about their recent form.

Newcastle 2–1 Manchester City

Newcastle earned a 2–1 win against Manchester City at St. James’ Park. Harvey Barnes opened the scoring in the 19th minute, and although City equalised early in the second half, Barnes restored Newcastle’s lead in the 77th minute. This results in the 4th defeat for Guardiola’s side this season.

Arsenal 4–1 Tottenham

Arsenal claimed a decisive 4–1 victory over Tottenham in the North London Derby at the Emirates Stadium. Eberechi Eze scored a hat-trick, with two early goals giving Arsenal control of the match. Tottenham reduced the deficit in the 48th minute, but Arsenal added two further goals, including Eze’s third, late on, strengthening their position at the top of the table.

Other notable results include a 2-2 draw between Bournemouth and West Ham, Brighton won 2-1 against Brentford, Fulham won 1-0 against newly promoted Sunderland, Wolves lost against Crystal Palace in Rob Edwards’ first match in charge.

Manchester United are set to face Everton on Monday night as they conclude the 12th round of the Premier League.
