New beginnings at MKU as September intake joins the family

Mount Kigali University has officially welcomed its newest cohort of students for the September intake, marking the beginning of their academic journey at the institution. The orientation ceremony brought together students from various programs, eager to embark on their higher education experience, and senior university leaders who assured them of support throughout their studies.

The Deputy Vice Chancellor for Finance and Administration, Dr. John Nyiligira, expressed the university’s commitment to nurturing talent and preparing students to thrive in a competitive world. He encouraged the freshers to embrace hard work, discipline, and innovation as they settle into campus life.

Lucie Uwimana, Dean of Students, welcomed the students warmly, stating, “We are delighted to have you join our vibrant community. The new students will be pursuing a wide range of programmes offered across the university’s schools, including Health Sciences, Nursing, Business and Economics, Education, Hospitality, Travel and Tourism Management, Law, Computing and Informatics, and Mass Media, Film and Communication.

These programmes cover diverse fields such as Medical Laboratory Sciences, Nursing, Business Management, Education in sciences and social studies, Hospitality and Tourism, Computer Science, Law, Journalism, and Film Production.

Each of these areas is designed to equip students with practical skills, professional knowledge, and hands-on experience to meet the demands of Rwanda’s growing economy and the global job market
