My friend inspired me to join Deejaying- Cyanide

Like its always said, “when you walk with four wise men you become the fifth wise man and when you walk with four fools, you definitely know what you will be”.

Whether you agree or not Manzi Titus aka DJ Cyanide agrees fully to the statement as his childhood friend Sempa Moses now commonly known as Seleckta Entity is the force behind his profession.

Cyanide’s passion came to life in 2010 while in a video library where he saw Moses mixing different songs. “When I saw Moses mixing songs on his computer, I fell in love with deejaying. I asked him to teach me and to my surprise, he agreed even though I was still young by then”, he recalls.

Growing up in Entebbe, Uganda; Cyanide’s passion was easy to live by as he had access to DJ mixes by Kenya’s DJ Kalonje and DJ Shiru from Uganda as they were in high circulation on CDs (Compact Discs) in every video library in that area.

In 2018, two years after completion of his Ordinary Level (O Level), Cyanide moved to Kigali, Rwanda to continue with his studies.

He was elected entertainment prefect in 2019 at his school thanks to the deejay skills obtained from his childhood friend which motivated him to push for professional deejaying skills.

Deejay Klean introduced Cyanide to Innovation DJ Academy and in 2022, he took a three months course where he met his favorite Deejay ‘DJ Kelvin’.

Although taking a course in media and mass communication at Mount Kenya University in Rwanda (MKUR), Cyanide is proud of his current profession because through it he has been able to play at events like: “Sustainable Charity Festival at Kigali BK Arena”, “Royal FM”, “Kigali Christmas 46th Edition at Serena Hotel”, among other gigs.
