Kabisa drives Rwanda’s electric revolution with a complete EV ecosystem

Kabisa Electric Vehicle Company is continuing to lead Rwanda’s shift to clean transportation by building a full electric vehicle (EV) ecosystem. The company focuses on vehicle sales and leasing, installation of charging infrastructure, and specialized EV maintenance.

Since 2024, Kabisa has partnered with fuel retailers and private sector investors to expand the country’s public charging network. These developments include the introduction of fast-charging stations and the launch of Kabisa’s flagship “EV House” in Kigali. The EV House serves as an ultrafast charging hub and offers maintenance, diagnostics, and support services for EV owners.

Kabisa’s approach is helping remove financial barriers that often limit electric vehicle adoption. Through leasing and fleet services, the company enables businesses, taxi drivers, and delivery operators to access EVs without high upfront costs.

The expansion of charging stations and EV workshops is also creating new economic opportunities. Kabisa is working with training organizations to develop a skilled workforce in areas such as EV maintenance, charging infrastructure installation, and fleet operations. This contributes to a growing professional pathway within Rwanda’s transport sector.

Experts say these advancements support Rwanda’s goals for a greener economy by increasing private investment, strengthening energy independence, and reducing fuel imports.
