Former Jihadist Kareem converts to Christianity after vision of Jesus

A former jihadist named Kareem has shared how a personal encounter with Jesus Christ led him to leave violent extremism behind.

Kareem grew up in a strict Islamic family in the Middle East and joined a jihadist group as a young man, believing he was serving God through armed struggle. “I was taught that Christians and Jews were the enemies of God. My purpose in life was to fight them,” he said.

His life changed during a mission when he experienced what he calls a supernatural vision. “I saw a bright light and heard a voice call my name: ‘Kareem, why are you persecuting Me?’” he recalled. “I felt peace, love, and forgiveness like never before. That moment broke everything inside me.”

After the vision, Kareem secretly studied the Bible and embraced Christianity. His decision put him at risk. “When my family and my group found out, they rejected me completely. I had to leave my country to stay alive,” he said.

Today, Kareem lives in a safe, undisclosed location and shares his story to inspire others. “I once lived in hatred. But Jesus taught me to love even those who hate me. My life now is about peace, not violence,” he said.

Kareem’s testimony, shared on platforms like Delafé Testimonies, has gained global attention as an example of personal transformation and courage under threat. “If Christ could forgive me, He can forgive anyone,” Kareem said, continuing his mission of hope and reconciliation.
