Families unite through games at Vision City’s Family Fun Day

The “Family Fun Day” initiative successfully hosted its third edition on Sunday at Vision City, bringing together diverse families for a vibrant day of sports and community building. This recurring program, designed to strengthen bonds among residents and visitors, emphasizes shared experiences and friendly competition.

Launched in September 2024, Family Fun Day originated from a desire among Vision City residents to enhance their relationships as neighbors. After brainstorming various ideas, sports emerged as the ideal platform to foster these connections. The inaugural event proved highly successful, setting the stage for subsequent gatherings.

The core purpose of Family Fun Day is to deepen relationships not only among families residing in Vision City but also to integrate international visitors staying for holidays. Through a variety of activities, children and parents alike have the opportunity to meet, interact, and build new friendships.

Munyampeta Christian Loic, a participant since the first edition, expressed the event’s positive impact. “It’s my third edition in this program. I have met many friends and I got different opportunities through this day,” he shared. “I wish many of my friends can join Family Fun Day so as we can share different ideas and enjoy together.”

The event’s preparation is a collaborative effort, with participating families contributing resources and organizing various games. Popular sports like pickleball, basketball, and volleyball are featured, culminating in the awarding of trophies and medals to the winners. These contributions help maintain the event’s vibrancy and competitive spirit.

Family Fun Day is officially sponsored by entities such as Kigali Universe and Airtel, and organizers are actively seeking additional sponsors to expand participation and further enhance the program. The initiative holds a clear vision: to grow the event significantly to welcome more families, and a broader mission: to strengthen relationships among families and human beings in general.
