Col. Kayigamba appointed to head RIB

President Paul Kagame chaired a cabinet meeting on Wednesday, 26th March 2025, at Village Urugwiro, where new officials were appointed to head different institutions.

Among them is Col. Pacifique Kayigamba Kabanda, appointed as the Secretary General of the Rwanda Investigation Bureau (RIB). The former chief military prosecutor replaced Jeannot Ruhunga. Jeanne Umuhire becomes Deputy Director General of Rwanda Biomedical Centre (RBC), and Nassi Agaba Bisengo as the Deputy Director General of Rwanda Technical and Vocational Education Training Board (RTB).

John Bosco Nkuranga was appointed as the Coordinator of strategic projects in the Ministry of Education, and Dorian Cyubahiro as the new Chief Technical Advisor in the Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning.

 The Rwanda Atomic Energy Board saw new leaders being appointed at different levels. Joram Ndayishimye was appointed as the Head of the Nuclear Technologies and Research Development Department,  Capt. Agnes Mutoni as Head of the Nuclear Safety and Security Department, Eng. Alexis Ruhinda as Manager of the Research Reactor Division and Eng. Yves Butera as Manager of the Nuclear Power Production Development Division.

Chantal Tuyishimire was appointed as Senior Policy Analyst, while  Françoise Niyigena, Oscar Uwayo, and Ornella Rwanziza are Policy Analysts in the Prime Minister’s Office.

Oda Gasinzigwa’s term was renewed as the Chairperson, while Kizito Habimana was announced as the Vice Chairperson at the National Electoral Commission.

Commissioners appointed include: Fortunée Nyiramadirida, Nicole Mutimukeye, Carine Umwali, Jean Bosco Mutijima, Faustin Semanywa, Françoise Kabanda Uwera, and Judith Mbabazi.
