Many online services worldwide experienced a major outage on Tuesday, November 18, after Cloudflare reported that a bug in its network caused the disruption.
Cloudflare, one of the largest internet hosting services, announced it had begun investigating the issue on Tuesday morning.
“The file grew beyond an expected size of entries and triggered a crash in the software system that handles traffic for several of Cloudflare’s services,” said Dutton.
The statement said there was no evidence of a cyberattack or malicious activity.
During the outages, many websites, including X (formerly known as Twitter) and ChatGPT, were among those that were affected
A similar outage at Amazon.com Inc.’s cloud service last month lasted approximately 15 hours, disrupting operations at major firms including Apple Inc., McDonald’s Corp., and Epic Games Inc.
