APR’s winless streak against Pyramids continues after defeat in Egypt

Rwanda’s top league winners APR FC failed to end their unlucky run against Pyramids FC after a big 3-0 loss to the Egyptian team in the second game of the CAF Champions League preliminary round.

This result, along with a 2-0 defeat in the first match in Kigali, meant APR’s exit from the tournament with a total score of 5-0.

This is APR’s fourth loss in six games with Pyramids FC since they first played each other in 2023.

The Egyptian squad has now beaten them four times and tied twice, keeping a strong record over the Rwandan champs.

Pyramids FC haven’t lost in their last five matches against APR FC (3 wins, 2 ties) and keep doing well in African contests, now on a six-game winning streak in all competitions.

For APR FC, the loss shows ongoing problems in African tournaments.
Even though they rule at home, they still can’t make their mark in Africa.

As Pyramids FC moves ahead, APR heads back to play at home. Fans will hope that their club has picked up some lessons and hope to regroup for their next shot at continental glory.
