APR FC secured a 3-0 victory over Rayon Sports in the seventh round of the Rwandan Premier League, returning to winning ways after two consecutive draws. The match took place at Stade Amahoro on Saturday, November 8, 2025.
APR FC started aggressively. In the 5th minute, Dauda made a strong run, delivering a cross to Hakim Kiwanuka, whose shot went out for a corner. The first half saw intense physical play, with several fouls committed by both teams. In the 22nd minute, Aziz Bassane received a long ball but was well-marked by Ishimwe Pierre as he tried to pass to Habimana Yves. In the 26th minute, Ruboneka Bosco passed to Dauda, who set up Mugisha Gilbert, but his shot was saved by goalkeeper Serumogo Ali and went out for a corner. The corner was expertly delivered by Ruboneka Jean Bosco, finding Ronald Ssekiganda, who headed the ball into the net, giving APR FC the opening goal.
In the 37th minute, William Togui scored APR FC’s second goal from a cross delivered by Hakim Kiwanuka, deflected slightly by the goalkeeper Pavelh Ndzila, and finished cleanly by Togui. The first half ended with APR FC leading 2-0.
In the second half, Rayon Sports made substitutions, bringing on Ishimwe Fiston, Rushema Chris, and Tony Kitoga to replace Habimana Yves, Serumogo Ali, and Niyonzima Olivier ‘Seif’. The pace of the game slowed, with most play concentrated in midfield and few clear chances. APR FC coach made tactical changes in the 66th minute, bringing on Denis Omedi and Mamadou Sy for Mugisha Gilbert and William Togui.
In the 70th minute, APR FC almost scored a third goal when Pavelh Ndzila’s clearance fell to Mamadou Sy, whose shot hit the post before Kabange took the ball for a corner with no result. In stoppage time, the fourth official added five extra minutes. In the 90+3rd minute, APR FC scored the third goal through Mamadou Sy, who received a pass, bypassed the goalkeeper Pavelh Ndzila, and confidently finished into the net, sending the fans into celebration.
The match ended 3-0, marking APR FC’s second consecutive victory against Rayon Sports in their last six encounters. The win lifted APR FC to fifth place with 11 points from five matches, while Rayon Sports remained in second place with 13 points, six points behind leaders Police FC.
