Amb. Col. (Rtd) Ndamage presents credentials to King Mswati III

Ambassador Col. (Rtd) Donat Ndamage presented his credentials to King Mswati III of Eswatini, officially accrediting him as Rwanda’s representative in the country. The ceremony took place at the King’s Palace in Lozita on November 6, 2025.

Their discussions focused on strengthening the already cordial relations between Rwanda and Eswatini, particularly in areas such as technology and tourism.

They explored opportunities that could be leveraged for the mutual benefit of both nations. King Mswati III encouraged Rwandan investors to explore investment opportunities in the Kingdom of Eswatini.

In the afternoon, Ambassador Ndamage met with about 80 Rwandans residing in Eswatini under the RCA association. He highlighted the strong relationship between the two countries and invited them to visit Rwanda to experience the country firsthand, while also explaining the services offered by the Rwandan Embassy.

Rwanda and Eswatini maintain collaborations in several sectors, including technology and tourism. Ambassador Ndamage emphasized that the bilateral relationship will continue to grow and strengthen, driven by political will from both nations.

Ambassador Ndamage presented his credentials following King Mswati III’s visit to Rwanda in August 2024. During that visit, he accompanied President Paul Kagame as they witnessed the signing of cooperation agreements covering the military, correctional services, police, and diplomatic visa facilitation.

President Kagame expressed gratitude to King Mswati III for attending his inauguration for a new five-year term, noting that the visit reinforced the friendship between the two countries. He said, “We seek to continue strengthening cooperation; that is the main reason for the agreements signed.”

First Lady Jeannette Kagame also met with Queen Inkhosikati Make LaMashwama, who accompanied the King, and discussed the work of the Imbuto Foundation while visiting the Early Childhood Development center, EZA, located in Urugwiro Village.

The King and Queen’s visit to Rwanda is seen as marking the beginning of a new phase in Rwanda-Eswatini diplomatic relations, opening the way for deeper cooperation aimed at fostering the development of both countries.
