In the heart of Rwanda, a rising basketball sensation has captured the attention and admiration of fans across the nation. Nshobozwabyosenumukiza Jean Jacques Wilson, affectionately known as J.J. Wilson, has become a household name in Rwandan basketball, showcasing extraordinary talent and sportsmanship on the court.

Born on June 26, 1998, in Kigali, Rwanda, Wilson’s journey to basketball stardom began at a young age. His remarkable skills were evident early on, leading to his recruitment by top teams in the National Basketball League (NBL) Rwanda following an impressive performance at the 2016 FIBA Africa Under-18 Championship.

Wilson, a dynamic shooting guard, is celebrated for his exceptional speed, quickness, ball-handling prowess, and defensive abilities. Since 2017, he has been a pivotal player for both APR BBC (Basketball Club) and the Rwanda National Basketball Team. His contributions came to a historic pinnacle in 2023 when he played a crucial role in securing Rwanda’s first-ever international podium finish, claiming a bronze medal at the FIBA Afrocoin.

In a memorable game against South Sudan in 2021, Wilson broke the world record for the most steals in a game, amassing an impressive 14 steals during the qualification match. His outstanding achievements have not only brought glory to Rwanda but have also earned him fans and admirers worldwide.
