Rwandan rapper and Mount Kigali University student Ishimwe Didier, popularly known as D Call, has announced the upcoming release of his new Extended Playlist (EP) titled Later. The announcement comes as the artist continues to build momentum in Rwanda’s music scene, attracting a growing fan base among students and young music lovers.
Speaking to local media, D Call said the support from his fans motivates him to create music that resonates with them. “I am recognized now, and fans are really behind me,” he said. “I owe them the best of my creativity, and that’s what this EP represents.”
The EP includes six tracks, with five main songs and a bonus track. Some of the tracks are already available for fans to preview on social media platforms such as Instagram and WhatsApp, while the full EP will be released on YouTube through D Call’s official channel. The project is primarily produced by Audyooh Pro.
When asked why he has attracted such a strong following in a competitive music scene, D Call explained, “The reason why many people love me more than other rappers is because I came to correct the mistakes those rappers made, and are still making. That’s why the fans show me love, and I love them too.”
Students at Mount Kigali University expressed excitement about the upcoming EP. Mugisha Eliazar, a Mass Media and Communication student, said, “We were really happy when we heard he’s releasing a new EP. As fans, we believe in him, and we know he’ll keep giving us what we love. We’re waiting for it with excitement.”
In addition to promoting his music, D Call urged fellow music lovers and stakeholders in Rwanda’s entertainment industry to support upcoming artists rather than fostering competition or jealousy. He also thanked his fans for their continued support and promised to deliver more music in the future.
With Later set to drop soon, D Call is positioning himself as one of the rising talents in Rwanda’s hip-hop scene, ready to make a lasting impact with his music.
