The Future Filmmakers Workshop, organized by Imitana, has helped many young people gain new skills in film production. The workshop, held at Cine Mayaka in Nyamirambo, trained students in screenwriting, cinematography, sound, editing, and film analysis.
Many students who completed the program said it would help them make better films in the future.

Pilot, a student from the sound department, said
“I learned how sound can bring life to a film. Before, I didn’t know how to mix or record good sound, but now I can do it myself.”

Ghislain, who studied screenwriting, also shared his experience.
“The workshop taught me how to write a good story for the screen. I can now plan scenes and write scripts that people will enjoy watching,” he said with a smile.
The founder and mentor of Imitana, Philibert Sharangabo, encouraged the students to keep working hard and use what they learned.

“Our goal is to build a new generation of Rwandan filmmakers who can tell their own stories. These students are the future of our film industry,” he said.
