Referee Karangwa Justin suspended for wrongly disallowing APR FC Goal

Karangwa Justin, a linesman, has been suspended for four weeks after refusing to validate what would have been APR FC’s second goal in their 1-1 draw against Rutsiro FC.

The decision was announced by the Referees’ Committee following a review meeting held on Tuesday regarding match officiating during Matchday 6 of the Rwanda Premier League, played on Saturday, November 1, 2025, at Umuganda Stadium.

Karangwa, serving as the first assistant referee, made an error by disallowing the goal scored by William Togui from a cross by Hakim Kiwanuka, citing a supposed infringement that was not justified.

This suspension comes amid a series of disciplinary measures against referees in the league, including Ishimwe Jean Claude ‘Cucuri’, Kwizera Olivier, and others who were previously sanctioned for officiating errors.
