France Mpundu, one of the four contestants competing to advance, has successfully moved on to the quarterfinals of the reality show ‘Secret Story’. The key factor that secured her continuation in the show was the votes from Rwandans, who overwhelmingly supported her, allowing her to stay in the competition taking place in South Africa.
France Mpundu advanced alongside Sarah from Côte d’Ivoire, while Ouaidou from Chad and Josée from Benin were eliminated. Following their departure, the show on Canal+ Magic now features eight remaining contestants.
The eliminations brought emotional moments, with tears from both those leaving and the remaining participants, reflecting the strong bonds formed during the show.
France Mpundu, already known in Rwanda’s music scene, is the first Rwandan to enter ‘Secret Story’, a show broadcast on CANAL+ that awards the winner over 20 million CFA francs (approximately 50 million Rwandan Francs).
This is the second edition of the show in Africa, following last year’s competition, won by Awa Sanoko from Côte d’Ivoire. This year, 18 contestants from 16 French-speaking African countries are participating. The show airs on CANAL+ POP from Monday to Friday at 20:15 and on CANAL+ Magic on Saturdays at 22:30.
‘Secret Story’ originated from the popular French version, which has been airing for 18 years on channels like TF1 and RTL Plug.
