Women and youth members of the Democratic Green Party of Rwanda (DGPR) have been urged to be friends of the environment and to take responsibility for protecting it, as this will benefit them in the future.
This message was delivered on October 31, 2025, during a meeting and training session for DGPR party members in Nyamasheke District.
Inspector General Alexis Mugisha officially opened the event on behalf of the Party President, Hon. Dr. Frank Habineza. He thanked the party members for choosing DGPR in parliamentary and presidential elections and reminded them that the party advocates on their behalf.
Mugisha encouraged the youth to embrace responsibility and recognize the importance of environmental conservation to ensure that future generations live in a better world.
“Youth, as natural guardians of the environment, you have a duty to care for the land, which will benefit the future of our country,” he said.
Abayisenga Papy Moïse, Deputy Youth Leader for the Western Province, told the youth that showing love for the environment will bring rewards in the future. He encouraged them to care for nature, make use of natural resources sustainably, and prevent anyone from harming it.
“Every party member must have ideas on how they will protect the environment, plant trees, and motivate others to take part in environmental conservation,” he said.
During the meeting and training, elections were also held to fill party positions in Nyamasheke District, as part of similar activities conducted across other districts.
