StarTimes Rwanda officially launched a new documentary series, ‘A Glimpse of China in the New Era’, aimed at giving viewers an immersive understanding of China’s culture, lifestyle, and development through the eyes of foreigners living in the country.
The series aired from September to October on StarTimes channels, including ST Zone, ST Novela E, and via the StarTimes ON mobile app. It targets African audiences and other international viewers, showcasing daily life, work, and perspectives of foreigners in China, while highlighting the nation’s rapid development.
Viewers explore regions beyond China’s major cities, including Taizhou, Chongqing, Chongzhou, Fujian, Dunhuang, and Wudang Mountain, gaining insights into local culture, history, and natural beauty.
The series also supports cultural exchange programs and community initiatives that strengthen collaboration between Africa and China. Lizzie LYU, StarTimes Rwanda’s Commercial Director, emphasized that the series offers both educational value and unique cultural experiences, fostering understanding and shared learning between the two continents.
