Price of petrol increases by 127 Frw per Litre

The Rwanda Utilities Regulatory Authority (RURA) has announced new fuel prices, with the cost of petrol rising to 1,989 Frw per litre and diesel now set at 1,900 Frw per litre.

The updated prices were released on Friday night, November 7, 2025, and will remain in effect for the next two months.

These rates replace those set in September 2025, when a litre of petrol cost 1,862 Frw and diesel was priced at 1,808 Frw. The new adjustment reflects an increase of 127 Frw per litre for petrol and 92 Frw per litre for diesel.

RURA explained that the price revision comes as part of the government’s ongoing efforts to respond to fluctuations in global petroleum markets.
“To address the volatility of international fuel prices, the Government of Rwanda continues to effectively manage fuel reserves and maintain sound economic measures to protect consumers and avoid excessive price hikes,” the statement noted.

The new fuel prices will officially take effect starting November 8, 2025.
