Pastor Rutayisire honored for inspirational book on reconciliation

Reverend Canon Dr. Antoine Rutayisire, widely admired for his lifelong dedication to peace, unity, and compassion in Rwanda, has been recognized with a distinguished literary award in honor of his impactful book on forgiveness and reconciliation.

Throughout his career, Dr. Rutayisire has embodied humility and the spirit of healing, guiding individuals and communities toward empathy and renewed harmony. His leadership and teachings have played a significant role in inspiring reconciliation efforts both within Rwanda and beyond its borders.

His powerful work was celebrated during the Book House Summit 2025, held on Sunday, November 2, at Saint Paul in Kigali. The summit brought together authors, academics, and thought leaders to highlight the influence of literature in shaping social values and promoting positive change.

Pastor Rutayisire received the Book House Award for his publication, “Reconciliation is My Lifestyle: A Life Lesson on Forgiving and Loving Those Who Have Hated You.” The book, originally published in the United States in 2021 and released in Rwanda in July 2023, spans 124 pages and emphasizes the transformative strength of forgiveness and unconditional love.
