The Rwanda Handball Federation has announced the appointment of Tunisian coach Hafedh Zouabi as the new head coach of the national team as Rwanda prepares to host the 2026 African Championship.
Zouabi, who has previously coached top teams in Tunisia and at the African level, has signed a two-year contract. He will oversee both the men’s and women’s national teams, with a primary focus on preparing the men’s team for upcoming African competitions.
Following the signing of his contract, Zouabi immediately began a training camp with 28 players. From this group, the final squad that will compete in the major tournament in Kigali in 2026 will be selected.
Handball fans in Rwanda believe Zouabi’s experience and leadership will strengthen the national teams and help elevate their performance on the African stage.
