Rwanda volleyball league: Gisagara and Kepler shock APR and Police

Gisagara District witnessed a weekend of surprises in the Rwanda Volleyball League as traditional giants APR VC and Police VC suffered heavy defeats on the third matchday. Both teams were beaten in straight sets, an uncommon outcome that sent shockwaves through the league standings.

In a packed Gisagara Indoor Stadium on Saturday, November 1, Police VC fell 3–0 to the home side, Gisagara VC, leaving fans ecstatic. The hosts delivered an outstanding performance, dominating every set and leaving their opponents unable to respond.

Earlier, Kepler VC overpowered APR VC with the same 3–0 scoreline, a victory that propelled them to the top of the table with 9 points. This win was particularly notable as Kepler has now beaten APR seven times in their last 13 encounters, cementing a growing rivalry between the two sides.

Other results from the weekend saw RP Ngoma defeat Kirere VC 3–1, while East African University Rwanda edged out KVC 3–1 as well.

After this round, Kepler VC leads the league with 9 points, followed closely by Gisagara VC in second place with 8 points, signaling a potential shift in the balance of power in Rwandan volleyball this season.
