Rwanda U-17 team drawn in group A for CECAFA AFCON qualifiers

Rwanda’s U-17 national team has learned its group opponents for the CECAFA qualifiers, which will serve as the pathway to the 2026 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) U-17.

The young Amavubi were drawn in Group A alongside Ethiopia, Kenya, Somalia, and South Sudan. Group B includes Uganda, Tanzania, Djibouti, Sudan, and Burundi.

The tournament, officially called the “CAF U17 AFCON CECAFA Region Qualifiers,” is scheduled to take place in Ethiopia from November 15, 2025.

Under Head Coach Habimana Sosthène, Rwanda’s U-17 squad remains in camp, intensively preparing for the regional competition.

The CECAFA tournament will determine three teams from East and Central Africa to represent the region at the 2026 U-17 Africa Cup of Nations, which will be hosted in Morocco.
