APR FC appeals refereeing decision after goalless draw with Kiyovu Sports

The management of APR FC has officially appealed against the decision issued by the Refereeing Commission, which ruled that match officials made no errors during their recent fixture against Kiyovu Sports.

The match, played on October 25, 2025, ended in a 0–0 draw at Kigali Pele Stadium as part of Matchday 5 of the 2025/2026 Rwanda Premier League season.

Although APR FC apologized to supporters for failing to secure victory, the club expressed strong dissatisfaction with the refereeing, insisting that key decisions unfairly affected the outcome of the game. In their appeal to FERWAFA, APR FC claims the referee should have awarded a penalty following a foul on forward Denis Omedi inside the box. The club also challenges the second yellow card shown to midfielder Ssekiganda Ronaldo, which resulted in his dismissal.

Despite these concerns, the Refereeing Commission reviewed the incidents and determined that the match officials acted correctly. APR FC disagrees with this conclusion and is now seeking a further review.

The club says it remains committed to fair play but insists that all teams deserve consistent and just officiating, especially in matches that hold significant impact on league standings.

Further updates are expected as FERWAFA reviews the appeal.
