On Saturday, September 20, members of the Rwanda Volleyball Federation (FRVB) re-elected Raphaël Ngarambe as federation president for a second four-year term, extending his leadership until 2029.
Ngarambe, who ran unopposed, received unanimous support, garnering all 33 votes during the election held at the federation’s general assembly at Hill Top Hotel, Kigali.
“This means a lot to our federation members. Being re-elected shows the need for continuity, which I will ensure by preserving our achievements,” Ngarambe said after his victory.
Having first assumed office in 2021, Ngarambe will serve his final term in line with the federation’s governance laws, which limit the presidency to two terms.
In other election results:
Geoffrey Zawadi was elected First Vice President in charge of Finance and Administration, succeeding outgoing Eric Nsabimana.
Janvier Gasasira was elected Second Vice President in charge of Technical Matters.
Jean-Jacques Dukunde replaced Philbert Mucyo as Secretary General.
Additional committee members include:
Treasurer: Henriette Umulisa
Conflict Resolution Committee: Clemence Ishimwe and Alphonse Nsengiyumva
Audit Committee: Rose Uwamariya and Scholastique Bitukuze
The newly elected committee also announced that the 2025/26 volleyball league season will commence on October 17.
