Gorilla FC kicked off the 2025/26 Rwandan Premier League season with a confident 2-0 victory over newly promoted AS Muhanga at Kigali Pele Stadium.
After a goalless but hard-fought first half, the hosts took control in the second. The breakthrough came in the 67th minute when Moussa Omar delivered a perfectly timed cross, which was met by Nduwimana Frank, who headed it into the net to give Gorilla FC the lead.
The hosts sealed the win in the 84th minute when Mudeyi Mussa dribbled past AS Muhanga’s defense and calmly slotted the ball past the goalkeeper.
The win puts Gorilla FC at the top of the league table after the opening matchday and sends a strong message about their intentions this season.
