Prince Buregeya signs with Nairobi United

Rwandan central defender Prince Buregeya has officially signed a two-year deal with Nairobi United, strengthening the newly promoted side ahead of their debut season in the Kenyan Premier League and their upcoming CAF Confederation Cup campaign.

The 25-year-old joins the Kenyan outfit after spending last season with FC AS Kigali, following a successful seven-year stint at APR FC in Rwanda. Buregeya’s experience and leadership at the back are expected to be pivotal for Nairobi United, who are bolstering their squad in preparation for a challenging 2025/26 season.

Nairobi United earned promotion from the second tier earlier this year and made headlines by winning the Mozzabet Cup, defeating giants Gor Mahia 2–1 in the final. That victory secured their historic qualification for the CAF Confederation Cup, where they will face NEC FC of Uganda in the preliminary round on September 20, 2025, at Hamz Stadium, Nakivubo.

Buregeya has already featured in his first match for Nairobi United, helping his new club secure an emphatic 5-1 win over Kibera United in a pre-season fixture. Speaking after the game, the defender expressed excitement about the new chapter in his career and his readiness to help the team compete on both domestic and continental fronts.
