The Rwanda Football Association (FERWAFA) has officially cleared Bugesera FC to participate in the 2025/26 Rwanda Premier League after initially denying the club a license.
The club was previously disqualified for failing to submit confirmation of medical insurance for its players and officials, failing to present documentation for the appointment of a team doctor, and mistakenly submitting licensing forms for the 2024/25 season instead of 2025/26.
Following the denial, Bugesera FC filed an appeal after rectifying all the issues raised. FERWAFA reviewed the appeal, accepted it, and overturned the initial decision. However, the club has been fined Rwf500,000 for administrative errors in its original submission.
With this decision, Bugesera FC now joins ten other clubs that were granted licenses despite facing minor administrative sanctions. Notably, only five clubs—Amagaju FC, Marines FC, Rutsiro FC, Musanze FC, and Police FC—completed all licensing requirements without any issues.
