APR BBC clinch historic 16th league title in style

APR Basketball Club have cemented their legacy as Rwanda’s most successful basketball team after defeating rivals REG 4-1 in the 2025 Rwanda Basketball League (RBL) finals at BK Arena.

The victory not only secured APR’s third consecutive league championship following titles in 2023 and 2024 but also marked a record-extending 16th league title in the club’s storied history.

Displaying a commanding performance throughout the best-of-seven finals, APR won three games in a row to seal the series, showcasing why they remain the gold standard in Rwandan basketball.

With the win, APR confirmed their place as Rwanda’s representative at the 2026 Basketball Africa League (BAL), where they will look to build on their 2025 bronze-medal finish.

Leading the way was Senegalese big man Youssoupha Ndoye, who delivered a dominant showing in the title-clinching game. He poured in 26 points and pulled down 7 rebounds in just 31 minutes on the court, earning himself the Playoff MVP award for his standout performance throughout the finals.
