Our families discouraged us but we didn’t listen to them

Irene and Maria are two best friends who had a passion to start up a business together.

When they shared the idea with their family’s, they were disouraged but they decided to pay a deaf ear to them.

Both friends came up with 150,000frw, paid rent for the shop and also bought a few pairs of shoes for the start.

Their determination, hard work and trust in God kept them pushing even on days when they didn’t get any clients.

Eventually, people learnt about their shoes and started purchasing from their shop and referring others.

The duo has been in the business for six months now having capital worth one million Rwandan Francs.

Their dream is to have more branches in the country selling shoes and other accessories.
