At only 26 years of age, Robert Rukikira has served in multiple offices and held a couple of leadership responsibilities at Kagarama Secondary school where he works while not at Mount Kenya University Rwanda: Patron managing over 1000 students, Chairman BNR Economic club (2018), Active member and chairman Pan African Movement (PAM), patron Never Again Genocide club, and in 2021 he joined Africa Youth Leadership Forum (AYLF) and Youth Impact Mission (YIM).
It is this experience, knowledge, and skills obtained over the years that make the ever smartly dressed gentleman confident that he is fit for the office of Guild President. Describing himself as a good communicator with a strong attitude, Robert is determined to see to it that once voted into office of Guild President at MKUR, the school timetable for CATs and Exams which he termed as “unrealistic” because it doesn’t favor majority of the students will be changed.
Just like Alain Cibalonza Iragi who is running for International student’s representative, Robert also believes in final students having a Graduation ceremony at the end of their study journey and vows to have this happen during his term in office.
In addition, the third year student from the school of Business and Economics want to bring to the attention of the University the need for social inclusion for people with disabilities (PWDs). In an exclusive interview with the magazine editor, he stretched that he will do everything in his power to have all their necessary facilities provided as stated in in the National Strategy for Transformation (NST 1); No wonder he is specializing in Risk management and Insurance.
To prove that he is a good team player and will not be a dictator like most leaders once they are elected into power, Robert concludes his manifesto by pledging to give students the authority to check the performance of their elected leaders and keeping them on their toes to deliver what they promised.
