Senagal’s ‘As Douanes knock Mozambique’s CFV Beira out of BAL

Clube Ferroviario da Beira(CFV) from Beira Mozambique was on Sunday 21st, May, 2023 eliminated from the Basketball Africa League(BAL) games 2023 when Association Sportive des Douanes(ADS) from Senegal hammered them 93-73 points.

Despite having stared the quarter finals well-finishing with 28-23 points, CFV Beira had a ‘hard time’ playing with AS Douanes’ Samba Fall who together with his team mates kept a high pace all through the game.

By the end of the first halftime, AS Douanes was comfortably leading with 53-27 points a range their opponents couldn’t match.

“Our qualification is no surprise to us, we trained hard and during the game, we studied our opponents’ strengths and weaknesses”, remarked Marcus Crawford.

Samba Fall emerged the top scorer of the day with 23 points and 6 rebounds.

To play in this year’s BAL qualifiers, As Douanes finished second in the Sahara Conference play off games while CFV Beira qualified for third place in Nile conference.
