Rwamagana: Bodies of woman and child found in a farm

Local authorities in Nyakariro Sector, Rwamagana District, say there is still uncertainty surrounding the bodies of a woman and her child who were discovered in a farmland. It is suspected they may have been killed elsewhere and dumped in the area.

The bodies, believed to be those of a woman aged between 25 and 30 and her one-year-old child, were found by a resident who was working in a farmland in Rusheshe Village, Bihembe Cell, Nyakariro Sector.

Théogene Muhoza, Executive Secretary of Nyakariro Sector, told IGIHE that the discovery was made on Sunday morning.

“We found them on Sunday morning. A woman aged between 25 and 30 and her baby boy aged around one to one and a half years. We suspect they were murdered elsewhere and dumped here because the place is an uninhabited farmland,” Muhoza said.

He added that they are waiting for security organs and medical experts to examine the bodies to determine the cause of death.

Investigations have already begun to find out whether the victims were killed locally or transported from another area.

Muhoza urged residents to report suspicious activities early and to avoid any acts of violence, noting that such crimes harm individuals and destabilize families and the wider community.
