Patriots Claim 1st Position in Rwanda Basketball League 2024 with Victory Over APR BBC

In a thrilling showdown at Lycee de Kigali Gymnasium on March 15th, 2024, the Patriots Basketball Club secured the coveted top spot in the Rwanda Basketball League 2024 after defeating APR BBC with an impressive score of 73-59.

Led by standout performances from key players, Patriots showcased their dominance on the court throughout the game. PEERY William Kiah, contributing 24 points, 11 rebounds, and 3 assists, alongside team captain Dieudonne NDIZEYE NSAYISABA, who also scored 24 points, grabbed 9 rebounds, and provided 4 assists, displayed exceptional skill and leadership, in addition to Steven HAGUMINTWARI’s commanding performance that yielded 18 points, 9 rebounds, and 3 assists.

Despite a strong effort from APR BBC, Patriots took an early lead in the first quarter, ending with a score of 19-9. APR BBC rallied in the second quarter, narrowing the gap to just one point at halftime, with Patriots leading 29-28.

Returning to the court for the second half, Patriots continued to assert their dominance, particularly in the third quarter, where they outscored APR BBC 26-18. Despite APR BBC’s efforts to stage a comeback, Patriots proved too formidable, securing victory with a final score of 73-59.

Patriots’ stellar performance in the game was underscored by their teamwork and resilience, evident in their ability to maintain control and extend their lead throughout the match. PERRY William, Team captain Dieudonne NDAYISABA, and Steven HAGUMINTWARI’s combined efforts accounted for an impressive 66 points out of the total 73 points scored by Patriots.

With this resounding victory, Patriots reaffirmed their status as one of the premier basketball clubs in Rwanda, showcasing their talent, determination, and championship pedigree on the court.
