Coach Carter on ‘defying the fashion norms’ in the sports industry

Texas A&M University basketball coach Sydney Carter has been turning heads as she steps on the court in her bold outfits, but she recently had to shut down critics who rallied against her fashion choices.

This came after Carter posted her 2021-2022 game outfits on social media and many called her unprofessional, some even suggesting she should be fined.

According to Good Morning America; coach carter said; “I’m still getting my job done at the end of the day, and not once have I been hindered in wearing high heels or leather pants or just if I wanted to wear denim on the bench”.

She further added, “I’m not the first person to wear heels on the bench nor leather pants, and nor will I be the last.”

However, not everyone criticized her sense of style, renown rapper Nicki Minaj supported Carter’s wardrobe and so are some fans.

Coach Carter aka Sydney Carter was born on 18th, November, 1990.

She is a retired professional basketball player; she played college basketball at Texas A&M University alongside Sydney Colson and San Antonio Stars center Danielle Adams and helped the ‘Aggies’ win the NCAA title during her junior year.

She was an Assistant Coach in the 2021-2022 season at Texas A&M and is now the Director of Player Development for women’s basketball at The University of Texas.

The Texas A&M took to her twitter handle and thanked her supporters through a tweet addressing the importance of representation.
