BAL 4 her:imminent of Basketball Africa League for women

In an ever-changing world, initiatives to promote women’s empowerment are key to creating a more equitable and inclusive society.

From the launch of the first season of BAL 2021, many wondered whether women will ever be included.

Without delay, the ‘BAL 4HER’ project was launched in 2022 by a team of professionals committed to promoting women’s rights at ‘Camp Kigali”.

During its second anniversary in Kigali, BAL president Amadou Garou Fall promised the women’s basketball league a brighter future.

BAL 4 HER Kigali comprises of 19 Rwandan basketball players, 4 coaches who all got a privilege of being trained by NBA legends.

The main aim of the association is to; close the gender gap in access to economic opportunities and financial resources.

“Basketball is for everyone: men, women, children, etc all included. Two years of BAL 4HER give hope to a society braced by equality”, said Amadou Garou Fall.

Visit Rwanda chief officer Michaela Rugwizangiya while speaking to the BAL4her players, she urged them to ‘have discipline as a number one value, enjoy the moment, dream big and stay focused so as to go far in life.
