A journey into entrepreneurship

“When two elephants fight, it’s the grass that suffers”- African proverb.

This proverb fits well with what happened when Rwanda and Uganda closed their boarders; this affected many especially those in business who imported and exported products within the two countries.

The trade barn caused a shortage of hygienic products such as; toilet papers, washing and bathing soap, among others as Uganda was the major importer to Rwanda.

Like the president of Rwanda H.E Paul Kagame has always urged us: “Kwihangira imirimo”, I came up with a business idea.

With help from REMA (Rwanda Environment Management Authority) and the local people, we re-cycled some papers into toilet papers.

Years later, our company has grown into a big producer of toilet paper both for sale within Rwanda and neighboring countries.
